Tanya McDonald writes haiku, fantasy novels, and old-fashioned letters. Originally from Salem, Oregon, she currently resides in Bellevue, Washington with her husband and their British cat. She is a bibliophile, as her numerous bookshelves will attest, and has an affinity for chickens.
Like many people, her initial introduction to haiku was in grade school, but it was an introduction to senryu in high school that put her on the path of short poetry. Upon discovering Michael Dylan Welch’s haiku online, her haiku horizons exponentially expanded. She has loved both reading and writing haiku ever since.
