Brooks Books announces the publication of Sky In My Teacup, an online collection of haiku & photographs by Anne LB Davidson. This collection comes from years of craft with the art of haiku and a lifelong interest in photography. With haunting photographs of New York City before 9-11, and beautiful nature scapes, this collection invites you to build your own connections around each haiku and to imaginatively enter the space of each photograph. Avoiding temptations to illustrate haiku with photographs and refusing to reduce the haiku to commentary on the photographs, Anne LB Davidson invites you to find the sky in your teacup.
This online collection available for free viewing at: <http://www.brooksbookshaiku.com/davidson/>

The Unworn Necklace, Roberta Beary's debut collection of haiku and senryu published by Snapshot Press in August 2007, and launched with a reading at the Haiku North America 2007 conference in North Carolina, is already into its second print run. The deeply felt, resonant poems in The Unworn Necklace challenge the accepted boundaries of haiku being intrinsically 'nature' poems and senryu as only involving 'human' content. The collection, first place winner of the 2006 Snapshot Press Haiku Collection Competition, has drawn universal praise from leading figures in the worldwide haiku community. Retailing at $14, The Unworn Necklace is available from www.amazon.com and www.snapshotpress.co.uk.

Dear haiku friends,
An hour ago I received the sad news that two days ago Wim Lofvers died. I knew he was ill and the end was inevitable, but still such news comes hard.Wim has made important contributions to haiku, nationally in the Netherlands as well as internationally, as a poet, as president of the Haiku Kring Nederland and as a publisher. Many of you have known him in one or more of these capacities. For seven years his biannual journal Woodpecker was one of the most important platforms for haiku poets from all over the world to show their work. Wim's small but ever so delicate series of Radish haiku books were highly appreciated. Wim was a kind man with a deep love for haiku. A funeral service will be held next Saturday, April 28th. Should you want to send your condolences to the family, the adress is:
Rijsterdijk 25 / 8574 VW Bakhuizen / Nethrlands.
Best wishes
Max verhart
